I was originally doing weekly posts on each episode but honestly it got a bit tedious. I figured I might as well take advantage of the break the series is currently taking, and blog a little about what I think of the series in anticipation for this week's episode.
Honestly I'm not really too sure what to think! I love it, because it's AHS, and I've been a dedicated fan since Murder House. However I feel that they're really grasping at straws in this series. Coven seems to be a total mish-mash of tons of different storylines that never seem to be elaborated on. What happened to Myrtle Snow? I mean she was resurrected by Misty Day at the end of episode 5. Also the fertility spell that was cast in episode 2 is ever mentioned again. Did they just throw it in for the purpose of a sex scene or is it supposed to serve a deeper plot later on in the series? These are just examples, to be honest there's numerous random storylines scattered throughout the first seven episodes.
Now don't get me wrong, the series is still good, Jessica Lange is absolutely brilliant as per usual. Madison is wonderfully bitchy and has great one-liners! I also really like Nan and Queenie but Zoe is a bit wet to be honest.
The one thing I'm a bit disappointed about is the apparent "love story" between Zoe and Kyle. I had high hopes for this relationship because I'm still not over Tate and Violate. It seems to be taking forever to take off and there's been next to no romance between them at all besides their threesome with Madison. I'm not usually one for romance but I really would have liked to seem them as a proper couple. I hope it picks up in the next few episodes.
I still quite like the series. In true AHS fashion it has constant plot twists and wtf moments. I hope it only improves in the next few episodes.

I LOVE AHS, but this season is one of my least favorites. I had high hopes but it's becoming more disappointing. I am so in love with Cordelia, I think she's brilliant. I love Lange, but I hate her this season. I agree with everything you stated, I hate how they show Kyle for a scene and that's it, it's not carrying itself and it's all over the place for me.
