Movies I Need To See: August 2013

So I figured this could be a monthly feature on my blog, where I just post trailers to the movies I'm hoping to see for the month. If I actually do get to see them (hopefully) then I'll review them on this blog!

Elysium

So I saw the trailer for this a few weeks ago and I thought it looked awesome! It's a sci-fi/action/thriller, and looks like it has a unique story. It's set in the future, which always makes for a good film I reckon. The majority of the human race still live on earth, even though it is destroyed and ravaged. The rich and privileged live separate from the rest on a space habitat called "Elysium" where they have more advanced medicine and technology.

I just reckon that this movie looks promising so hopefully if I see it, it won't be a disappointment.

Kick-Ass 2

I am a big fan of the first Kick-Ass movie, and I was so excited to hear that a sequel was being released. It follows Dave as he continues to be the superhero Kick-Ass. As predicted by the ending of the first movie, Chris D'Amico seems to be the main antagonist, and Jim Carrey plays a new superhero character. It looks good, except I feel Hit Girl has lost some bit of her awesomeness because she's no longer so young, seeing an eleven year girl be a baddass was pretty awesome and she made me wish I was her (not to be a murderer, just you know, I just wanted to be awesome like her). Hopefully she'll still be just as badass in this movie. All and all though, if it's anything like the first movie then it should be pretty good!

We're The Millers

I honestly really, really need to see this movie. It looks hilarious so here's hoping that all the funny parts weren't shown in the trailer. It's follows a drug dealer and his plan to hire a fake family in order to bring drugs from Mexico in to the US. Not sure if I find Emma Robert's performance as a tough runaway (honestly she just seems way to clean-cut to me) all that convincing but Jennifer Anniston's stripper character looks hilarious.

  2. I have just watched Elysium and It didn't disappoint! It's directed by the same guy who did District 9 if you saw that? it's the same sort of thing, really full on and gory, but I like that! haha. It's a really unique idea anyway, and sort of scary because you can really imagine the world ending up like that :| (take tissues!)

Love your blog, you seem to have a very similar film taste to me haha!
